A small realignment

Is it worth apologising to your readers when you only have three of them? Oh, who cares. No time for navel gazing here, other than a confession that I kind of lost my impetus with this blog. I have another one on the go which is for spleen venting.
And then it hit me… why am I bothering to write a serious advertising blog? My job is within the industry, sure, but my speciality is knowledge and trends. Henceforth, that’s what I’ll stick to. An ad blog with a consumery bent. With half-baked thoughts to take home and put in your brain oven. I was sort of writing about that anyway, but never acknowledged the point. So there.
The pic, incidentally, is the first one generated by the excellent app Compfight (very useful when on a picture trawl and Flickr’s thumbnail views are too restrictive) when I entered “Trends”.

Self-important bit

I’m Victor Houghton, a, er... something or other in one of the UK’s largest advertising agencies. My job title has a comma in it, which is embarrassing. I’m the chief finder-things-outer with a splash of trends who is lucky to work with all the major functions of the agency, even though I am most closely associated with strategic planning. Everything in this blog has most probably been stolen from other, infinitely more talented people, although the opinions are most definitely my own and not those of the agency.
